What kinds of documents can you work on?
I specialise in editing fiction manuscripts, but I also handle non-fiction, academic writing, blog content, and more. If you’re unsure, just reach out and I'll let you know if it's a good fit.
What are your rates?
Rates are shown in the Services section of the home page.
What’s your typical turnaround time?
Turnaround times can vary depending on word count and my current workload. I’ll confirm the timeline once I’ve seen your document.
Can I provide a style guide?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to provide your own style guide, use one of mine, or we can collaborate to create a custom guide tailored to your preferences. This helps ensure consistency in spelling, punctuation, tone, and formatting.
Do you use AI or editing software?
No. Every project is carefully proofread by hand, ensuring that context, flow, and tone are preserved. You’re getting a real human with a deep love of language, not an algorithm.
Is my work kept confidential?
Yes. Your manuscript is handled with complete confidentiality and securely stored during the editing process. It will never be shared or discussed outside our agreement.
Do you provide feedback or just corrections?
In addition to fixing typos, grammar, and punctuation, I also offer light, constructive feedback where helpful — especially if something seems unclear or inconsistent. My goal is to enhance your work without changing your voice.
What file formats do you accept?
I primarily work with Microsoft Word documents using Track Changes. This makes it easy for you to review and accept edits. If your file is in another format (like Google Docs) or you use an online tool like Reedsy, just let me know, I can usually accommodate.
How do I book your services?
Click on Book Now to submit your request for booking. I’ll get back to you with a quote and availability.
Can you work to UK/US/Australian English?
Yes! I’m familiar with regional spelling and punctuation rules. Just let me know your preferred version of English and I’ll make sure everything aligns consistently.
Will you communicate with me during the edit?
Yes! I’ll stay in touch throughout the process if any questions or uncertainties arise. I’ll also send a quick check-in if I come across something that needs clarification.
Do you offer ongoing editing for series or repeat clients?
Absolutely! If you’re working on a series or multiple projects, I’d love to build a long-term working relationship. Consistency across your books is important and I’m here for the long haul.
Can you work with indie/self-published authors?
Definitely! I love working with indie authors and understand the specific challenges and goals of self-publishing. Whether it’s your first book or your tenth, I’m here to help make it shine.
Do you edit sensitive or explicit content?
Yes. I’m comfortable editing a wide range of genres and themes, including those with mature, dark, or explicit content. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask. There’s no judgment here.
Do you work with non-native English speakers?
Yes! I’m experienced in helping non-native English writers improve clarity and flow while keeping their voice intact. I’ll correct grammar and language use without making it sound overly formal or unnatural.
Do you keep a backup of my work?
I securely store a backup during the editing process, but once the job is complete, files are deleted after 30 days. You’ll always receive the final version to keep and store safely on your end.
Will you sign NDAs?
If you’d like me to sign a non-disclosure agreement for peace of mind, I’m happy to do so. Transparency and trust are key to how I work.
Will you check for plagiarism?
No. I do not offer plagiarism checks. If that’s something you need, I recommend using a reputable plagiarism detection tool beforehand.
Can I request a rush job?
Sometimes! If my schedule allows, I offer expedited services for an additional fee. Contact me, and I’ll let you know what’s possible.
Do you offer sample edits?
Yes! I’m happy to provide a short sample edit (usually up to 1,000 words) so you can get a feel for my editing style before committing.
Can I credit you in my book?
Yes! If you’d like to thank me in your acknowledgments, that’s always appreciated (but never required). I love celebrating your book’s success right along with you!
